Château Pichon Baron 2022 - 2nd Cru Class

Composed of the appellation's typical coarse pebbles and sands, Pichon Baron is a paradise for vine-growing. The composition of the subsoil favors the storage of rainwater for the roots, and the relief of the hills naturally accentuates drainage.

This terroir, with its exceptional properties, benefits from an oceanic climate softened by the proximity of the Gironde estuary. All the conditions are in place to make Pauillac the most prestigious appellation in Bordeaux.

The 75 ha of the Pichon Baron estate are planted on high-quality gravelly soils. This unique soil, low in nutrients and without excess water, sparingly nourishes the different varieties of vines, whose average age is 35 years.

Pichon Baron's strict selection of the oldest vines is dedicated to the production of Château Pichon Baron, the estate's Grand Vin, with a limited number of bottles to produce only the very best.

Composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, Pichon Baron's vast vineyard has been meticulously parcelled out. Each parcel benefits from precise work adapted to its profile.

The Pichon Baron estate also produces two seconds: Les Tourelles de Longueville and Les Griffons de Pichon Baron.
