Château Palmer 2019 - 3rd Cru Class

In the heart of Margaux, 66 hectares of gravel and grassy ground fixing the Gironde. Between this soil rich of its secular history and its skies with its hourly microclimate. One terroir, three grape varieties: the horizon of Château Palmer.

Thomas Duroux's commitment to the environment goes far beyond biodynamics, tested in 2008 and then generalized to the entire vineyard in 2014: Palmer has metamorphosed into a farm, welcoming cows in its meadows and sheep in its vines that naturally fertilize an exceptional terroir.

It comprises three pillars: carbernet sauvignon and merlot in equal parts, complemented by a touch of petit verdot. An exception. And one rule: the grape variety does not determine the quality of the wine, it influences it by its own characteristics.

After the desolation of 2018, due to a very small production put on the market, smiles light up faces again. Not only is the harvest generous, but it turns out to be superb on tasting: the grapes are pure and expressive, representative of Palmer's terroir. Thomas remains struck by "its velvety touch, but also by its energy, the purity of its origin".
