Château Figeac 2022 - 1st Great Cru Class A

Château Figeac was elevated to the rank of Premier Grand Cru Classé "A" in the Classement des Grands Crus de Saint-Émilion, in September 2022.

It has been owned by the Manoncourt family since 1892.

Unique, recognizable, racy, CHATEAU-FIGEAC expresses all the elegance of great Bordeaux.

Château-Figeac owes its singular character to the unique combination of three croups of Günzian gravel with clay subsoils, several microclimates and a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. This original blend, dominated by 2/3 Cabernet, gives the wine structure, finesse, freshness and smoothness.

Since the beginning of this century, Château-Figeac wines have become available in their early years, with a more caressing mouthfeel, without losing their incomparable verticality over the years. Its longevity over several decades proves exceptional, with an inimitable, complex bouquet that reveals itself over time.

This great wine is distinguished by its rich nose and aromatic complexity.

On the palate, the Cabernet Sauvignon reveals a beautiful floral aspect in the wine's youth, accompanied by great structure as it ages. Cabernet Franc adds finesse to the tannins, while Merlot adds roundness and body.

The attack is frank, the substance silky, the complexity elegant.

The estate also produces a second wine: Le Petit Figeac.
