Château Haut-Brion 2022 - 1st Great Cru Class
Château Haut-Brion is located in the commune of Pessac. It is the only estate to hold the dual distinction of Premier Grand Cru Classé in 1855 and Cru Classé de Graves.
The vineyard covers 51 hectares, 48 of which are planted with red grape varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot) and nearly 3 with white grape varieties (Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris).
The property faces Château La Mission Haut-Brion and shares with it the vast terrace of fine gravel known as Haut-Brion on old maps and charts. These gravels, which contribute to the viticultural value of Château Haut-Brion's soil, are small pebbles made up of different varieties of quartz. The gravel soils rest on a unique subsoil of clay, sand, limestone and falun.
Haut-Brion's wines are elegant and complex, with a rare minerality and complexity.
Second wine: Le Clarence de Haut-Brion
