Château La Violette 2022
On the heights of the famous Pomerol plateau with its iron dross subsoil, "the holy of holies" according to oenologist Michel Rolland, in Catusseau, Château LA VIOLETTE takes its name from an original and exquisite violet fragrance that has always seduced the most discerning palates...
This property, a fine flower of Pomerol with a vineyard of 1.8 hectares.
In each of his Pomerol vineyards, Henri Parent pursues the objective set in 1985: to surpass himself, to push back the limits of excellence, to get the very best from the vines. His success can be summed up in 3 words: audacity, perfectionism and a strong team. Henri puts his trust in the hands of Michel Rolland and his Argentine disciple Marcelo Pelleriti, already indispensable to his mother. They give birth to unctuous, charming, fleshy wines, in which the full expression of fruit is preserved.
They are also behind a small revolution: vinifying 100% of the harvest directly in oak barrels, i.e. without the need for stainless steel or cement vats. This technique, known as microvinification, began in 2006 at La Violette and was extended to Le Gay in 2014.
A meticulous approach taken to the extreme, as evidenced by the addition of berry destemming at La Violette, which involves harvesting not whole bunches but grapes on bunches, according to their ripeness.
