Château Montrose 2022 - 2nd Cru Classé
Montrose is a 95-hectare vineyard, which has the exceptional and very rare feature of being historically in one piece, around the Château, the cellars and the farm buildings.
The terroir of Château Montrose corresponds to what geographers call "elite nuclei". A complex geological stacking over millions of years has created a ridge with natural drainage towards the estuary, ideal for the production of great wines.
The terraces have a gravelly soil mixed with sand on the surface and a subsoil richer in clay, creating a natural reserve from which the vines draw the water they need deep down.
Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), the great variety of soils also allows us to bring to perfect maturity parcels of Merlot (32%), Cabernet Franc (6%) and Petit Verdot (2%).
Second wine, La Dame de Montrose
