Domaine de Chevalier Blanc - 2022
To celebrate Olivier Bernard's 40th harvest at the helm of the estate, the bottles of Vintage 2022 will be adorned with a unique label. Illustrated by Xu Bei Hong, one of the most renowned Chinese painters of the 20th century, notably for his contribution of Western values to traditional Chinese painting techniques.
A great wine is always born in extreme conditions...".
One might think that the Chevalier terroir is difficult and capricious... But it is exceptional and capable of producing a remarkably early harvest, provided we treat it with the respect it deserves... In fact, it can be said that a great wine is always born in extreme conditions, on a difficult terroir, and even, paradoxically, that it is from this difficulty that it derives its greatness...
Located in Léognan, capital of the Graves region, Domaine de Chevalier Blanc oversees a unique 7-hectare vineyard of white vines. It is planted on soils of black sand and fine white gravel resting on an ideally drained clay-gravel subsoil.
The estate also produces a second wine: L'Esprit de Chevalier Blanc.
