Château Ausone 2022
CRU HORS CLASSEMENT
Owned by the Vauthier family since 1690, Alain and his eldest daughter Pauline, the eleventh generation of winemakers, continue to make wine in the spirit of their forebears.
Two millennia of cultivation tell no lies: on the Ausone estate, nature concentrates her gifts to work on the wine. For here, gentleness reigns, like an invitation to the vine.
The flagship of the estate, Château Ausone is a work of finesse and elegance. A cathedral, it begins with a powerful, mineral Cabernet Franc profile, followed by round, chiselled, pure Merlot fruit. A monumental wine, like a bulwark against time: the years pass over it, lovingly sublimating its character.
The domaine also offers a second wine, Chapelle d'Ausone. Produced under the same conditions as its elder brother, its lesser evil is that it comes from young vines destined later to produce the grand vin.
