Château Canon 2021 - 1st Great Cru Class B
In 1996, the Wertheimer family (owners of the Chanel house and therefore also of Château Rauzan Ségla, Château Berliquet, Domaine de l'Ile Porquerolles) bought Château Canon.
Château Canon is an emblematic property, located on a limestone plateau, covering 34 hectares. The vineyard is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc.
Enclosed by walls, the vineyard of Château Canon borders the entrance of Saint-Emilion. It even invites itself into the heart of the village, since the plot of Bourg de Château Canon, rue de la porte Brunet, is adjacent to the Cordeliers Convent. A single vineyard plot of 15 ares, surrounded by houses, ploughed by a horse and harvested by hand, according to ancestral practices.
