La Dame de Montrose 2021
The second vine of Castel Montrose
Made from the same vineyard and with the same rigor as the Grand Vin, La Dame de Montrose, resulting from a second selection, is a wine dominated by Merlot, supple and silky.
Its very pronounced red fruit aromas are another expression of the terroir in a style all its own.
This wine was created in 1983 as a tribute to Yvonne Charmolüe, who managed Château Montrose alone from 1944 to 1960. With a variable production depending on the year, this wine is aged for 12 months in 30% new barrels and represents on average 40 to 45% of the total production of the Montrose vineyard.
