Château Léoville Las Cases 2021 - 2nd Cru Class
Léoville las Cases contains a terroir of great complexity. The majority of the grapes come from of Quaternary gravel on gravelly-sandy and gravelly-clayey subsoils, one also finds more or less deep and compact clays, sometimes even flush.
The proximity of the Gironde is responsible for this unique diversity of soils, created over geological periods by successive superimpositions. In addition, the river generates a very specific microclimate that allows an early maturity of the soil. of the grapes and protects the vineyard from frost.
The Château Léoville Las Cases has decided, with the 2007 vintage, to create a second wine, the Petit Lion du Marquis de Las Cases.
