Dominus 2018
DOMINUS 2018 NAMED #1 WINE OF THE YEAR 2021 BY WINE SPECTATOR
Dominus Estate, Yountville, California, was founded by Christian Moueix in 1981. Located on the famous Napanook vineyard, the grapes produced on this estate contributed to the great Cabernet Sauvignons of the region in the 1940s and 1950s.
The origins of Dominus Estate go back to the early days of Napa Valley. In 1838, George Yount, for whom the town of Yountville is named, planted the first vines in the area, some of which are on the present Dominus Estate land.
Today, the vineyard produces 3 wines: Dominus, the great wine, Napanook, and Othello. The name "Dominus" reflects Christian Moueix's deep commitment to this historic vineyard and his desire to preserve it for future generations.
Since 2021, Dominus Estate is certified as a California Certified Organic Farmer (CCOF).
