Le Petit Cheval 2016 - 2nd Wine of Château Cheval Blanc
Second wine of Château Cheval Blanc...
Tasting commentary of the Château:
The nose is very pure and clear with a brightness of red fruits and marked flowers, the violet and the raspberry dominate largely. This nose is charming, but it is no less complex and serious. The barely perceptible breeding notes are perfectly blended. The attack is melted, dense and crisp, the acidity of the wine plays a fundamental role in the straightness and length of the mouth. The dense and numerous tannins remain perfectly ripe and coated, a creamy taste emerges from the mouth. The finish is fresh and fruity, and stretches for a long time. The balance between acidity and tannins is perfect.
A dry year filled with a very nice after-season, Le Petit Cheval is perfectly in line with its elder. A fresh, fruity, floral aroma continues with a mouth at once tender, voluminous and deep. A beautiful introduction to the world of Cheval Blanc.
Here is a particularly hedonistic wine that has never stopped tasting good since it was bottled. It hasn't closed yet. I invite you to enjoy it immediately. Its beauty lies in the aesthetics of its perfect realization and in the very hedonistic pleasure that it gives us when we taste it. Blend: 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc. Dark, intense, purple and lively color. Very aromatic nose, with fine fruit, pure, subtle, ripe, creamy and nuanced. Magical on the attack, airy in the middle of the mouth, particularly fragrant, tasty and complex after the middle, this wine bounces back in the persistence before finishing powerful, noble in its texture, with a lot of taste. It is superb! Note that this wine is made only from three parcels in which many young vines of Cabernet Franc and Merlot from 1989 are planted. This shows the potential of this magical terroir!
