Château Margaux 2016 - 1st Great Cru Class
The Great Wine of Château Margaux has been recognized, since the 17th century, as one of the greatest wines in the world.
The 87 hectares of vines are located between Margaux and the Gironde, on a hill of gravel which enjoys privileged conditions - exposure, drainage, rainfall ... without forgetting the work of men who have shaped over the centuries this Grand Cru.
How difficult it is to succeed a vintage as fantastic as 2015! And yet Château Margaux 2016 is in line with the greatest vintages of the beginning of this century!
The nose is particularly delicate, complex and deep. On the palate, the wine is incredibly full, smooth and above all incredibly long. It is of course the large plots of Cabernet Sauvignon that give all the elegance to this wine. The Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes bring an important complexity to the wine both on the aromatic level and thanks to the softness of their tannic structure. Finally, the Petit Verdots, despite their small proportion (only 1% of the blend), bring considerable volume and density.
Château Margaux 2016 is an exceptional wine, the result of a combination of exceptional climatic conditions, knowledge of the terroir and a major selection effort.
