Château La Fleur-Pétrus 2015
Château La Fleur-Pétrus is mainly composed of Merlot, which brings suppleness and generosity. The Cabernets Francs, planted on gravel and fine clay, contribute to the whole by their rigour and complexity, while a small percentage of Petit Verdot, planted on fine gravel, brings a spicy touch to the finish. The ensemble combines an elegance characteristic of the cru with a generosity and structure typical of the great wines of Pomerol. A careful tasting reveals remarkable finesse and complexity with a hint of violet.
Château La Fleur-Pétrus is one of the most famous vineyards of Pomerol. This historic property, whose plots were located at the 'Pétrus' and 'La Fleur' sites, took its name in the 18th century. Jean-Pierre Moueix, established since 1937 in Libourne, guessed very early the excellent quality of the Pomerol appellation. Château La Fleur- Pétrus was its very first acquisition in 1950. Quickly, he also acquired Château Trotanoy in 1953.
