Vieux Château Certan 2019
Covering an area of 14 hectares in a single block, the vineyard of Vieux Château Certan is divided into 23 plots managed independently according to soil type, grape varieties planted and the age of the vines.
With a wide variety of nuances, the soils are made up of a very clayey part planted mainly with Merlot (70%), a clayey-gravelly part planted with Cabernet Franc (25%) and a very gravelly part planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (5%).
The average age of the vineyard is 50 years. These old vines, combined with the microclimate of the Pomerol plateau allow the different grape varieties to reach an optimal maturation.

Château Vieux Certan 2019, is a ripe, tannic, fruity wine with surprisingly preserved acidity. It reveals a superb balance. The Merlots are dense, vinous, smooth, full and racy. The few Cabernet Francs retained as first wine, all lacey, are complex, tasty and persistent. Very promising, it is comparable to the 2010 in terms of character, concentration and complexity.
