Château Rauzan Ségla 2018 - 2nd Cru Class
Rauzan-Ségla is managed by none other than Nicolas Audebert, also at the head of Château Canon. The latter covers 34 hectares at the top of the Saint-Emilion plateau as well as to the south and southwest. The property underwent many changes when it was taken over by the Wertheimer family. The director at that time, John Kolasa, replanted entire plots and modernized the entire property, especially the underground cellars.
The style of the wines is pure, mineral and opulent. The wines take between 10 and 15 years to open up fully. Recent vintages are absolutely remarkable, notably 2016, 2017 and 2018. The terroir is planted with 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. The best plots are in the heart of the village, facing the château. A breathtaking view for any wine lover wishing to visit the region.
