Château Montrose 2019 - 2nd Cru Class

At Montrose, technology and the know-how of the men converge towards a single goal: to serve the wines. In this setting of technical performance that respects both man and the environment, Hervé Berland has this year signed the first 100% green vintage, while reinforcing the identity of this jewel of the Médoc, which is becoming more and more precise.

Vincent Ducup, cellar manager, worked closely with Éric Boissenot on the blending of the press wines - representing 300 barrels - and the 80 batches of drop wines from the 26 climates. This year, the quality of the Merlot is such that their proportion is 30% in the final blend, as in 2009.

The first tastings suggest a vintage with a balance very close to 2016: a little strict in youth, but with delicate tannins and great freshness.
