Château Bélair Monange 2018 - 1st Great Cru Class B

Château Bélair-Monange, whose origins date back to Roman times, has always been at the top of the Great Wines of Saint-Emilion. In 2008, Établissements Jean- Pierre Moueix acquired this historic site located on the highest point of the Saint-Emilion limestone plateau.

Château Bélair-Monange is produced on the most privileged soils of Saint-Émilion. The limestone plots of the plateau contribute to the freshness and minerality; the blue clay of the hillsides brings intensity, length, and a unique elegance to the vintage.

Surface area of 23.5 hectares, comprising 90% Merlot & 10% Cabernet Franc 25 years old. The soil is cultivated in 4 different ways, with manual green work adapted to the climatic conditions, manual; double sorting: manual and optical Traditional, in thermo-regulated stainless steel & concrete tanks.

16-18 months in oak barrels (50% new)

Dark, intense and beautiful color. Nose very aromatic, fine, with ripe fruit, with a touch of resin. Juicy on the attack, opulent in the middle of the mouth, very aromatic too, with a superb brilliance in the flavor, this wine melts on the palate, delicate and powerful at the same time. It finishes long and complex without austerity, neither structure nor flavor. Great success. Blend: 90 % merlot, 10 % cabernet franc.
