Château Mouton Rothschild 2015 - 1st Cru Class
In 1945, to celebrate the regained peace, Baron Philippe de Rothschild decided to crown the label of the vintage with the "V" for Victory, designed by the young painter Philippe Jullian. From an exceptional circumstance a tradition was born, and from 1946 onwards, each year a different artist was invited to create an original work for the label. At first, Baron Philippe chose the painters from among his personal friends: Jean Hugo, Léonor Fini, Jean Cocteau… In 1955, Georges Braque agreed to illustrate the vintage. He was then joined by the greatest artists of our time: Dali, César, Miró, Chagall, Picasso, Warhol, Soulages, Bacon, Balthus, Tàpies, Jeff Koons, and more.
The tradition continues with the 2015 vintage, featuring the work of German artist Gerhard Richter, born in 1932. His work for Mouton is "the fruit of a process both random and skillfully crafted, which he calls Flux. The artist captures colors in motion in photographs, captured at the ideal moment of their composition: in the same way, a harmonious blend gives a great wine, a living material, its balance and fullness." In addition to his signature, the 2015 label features a slightly modified presentation, bearing the mark of the new generation that succeeded Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, who passed away in 2014: Camille Sereys de Rothschild, Philippe Sereys de Rothschild, and Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild. It is signed by Philippe Sereys de Rothschild, representing the three family owners.
MOUTON ROTHSCHILD 2015 embodies winemaking excellence and investment in time. This bottle represents much more than a simple beverage: it is a symbol of heritage, prestige, and potential for appreciation. Acquire this treasure and treat yourself to an extraordinary sensory and heritage experience.
