Tertre Roteboeuf 2020

Owned by François Mitjaville, Château Tertre Roteboeuf is a small vineyard of 5.6 hectares magnificently located on the south coast of Saint-Emilion, in the commune of Saint-Laurent-de-Combes.

This vineyard of Gallo-Roman origin benefits from a rare micro-climate as it is only composed of high hillsides facing south/south-east.

A recognizable style: identical precision in quality, the same tannic structure, opulent wines, wines for ageing that flirt with the great growths without appearing on the Bordeaux classification list.

If we start from the principle that a great wine is good young as well as old, then all the production of the domain ticks this box.

François Mitjavile and his daughter Nina also run Roc de Cambes, in Côtes de Bourg, on their own, and they do not belong to any particular group.

This is a powerful, deeply concentrated and intense wine. Lots of spice, blackcurrant pellet, muscular and intense tannins, quite closed and austere at the moment, but a real sense of lift and juice becomes clear after 10 minutes of opening in the glass.
