Pavillon Blanc du Château Margaux 2020
Pavillon Blanc is produced by Château Margaux, 1er Cru Classé of Margaux.
The eleven-hectare vineyard is composed entirely of Sauvignon Blanc. It is located on a very old parcel of the property which had long been planted with red vines, then uprooted because of the high risk of spring frosts.
The production and selection techniques have been completely revised since 2009 / 2010 in order to reach a higher level of excellence... Only 1/3 of the harvest is bottled.
The quantity of Pavillon Blanc does not exceed one thousand cases and benefits today from the ultra-modern facilities of the new winery designed by Norman Foster.
The finesse, complexity, richness and length on the palate of Pavillon Blanc are incomparable for a wine made from 100% Sauvignon. The latest vintages, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 in particular, have opened up new horizons in quality, ageing capacity and style, which have become more mineral and much more complex.

A clear gun smoke character with slate and graphite, also a ton of white peach, white pear, some sweet mango and a scratch of salinity on the finish.
This is a balanced and successful wine, easy to recommend, that completes a solid set of wines at Margaux in the 2020 vintage. 40% of the overall production in the final blend.
100th anniversary of the Pavillon Blanc name.
