Les Perrières de Lafleur 2019

Les Perrières was born from the idea of creating a new cru by planting the Bouchets de Lafleur on asteriated limestone of the Fronsadais. It took Baptiste and Julie nine years of research and life-size trials to set up the Perrières vineyard: selection of terroirs, excavations, purchase of plots, uprooting of existing vines, and finally planting.

These Acts 1 to 9 were essential to give birth to the vintage of Les Perrières of which 2018 is the first vintage.

The heart of Les Perrières is located at the place called Meyney, on the southwestern crest of the Fronsac plateau. The subsoil is occupied by old limestone quarries and the soils of Les Perrières are shallow and clayey-limestone. The vineyard of Les Perrières is composed of 50% of Bouchets de Lafleur and 50% of Merlots.

The work of the vines is done with the same team of Château Lafleur and with the same level of requirement. The precision and the quality of the tannins, the complexity and the contained power, the very long final make of Les Perrières a great wine whose filiation with Château Lafleur leaves no doubt.

Tasting commentary:

Dark, intense and vivid color. Purple reflections. Very aromatic and fine nose. Nuances of ripe fruits. Nice freshness. Surprisingly fat from the attack, while its body remains tense, the wine keeps its mellowness until the finish. Very tasty and juicy in the middle of the mouth, it ends on a fine touch, on a very nice tasty length and above all totally untreatable.
