Château Croix De Labrie 2018 Great Cru
Château Croix de Labrie is an estate of 5.78 hectares located in the heart of the AOC Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, an appellation that inevitably reminds one of Burgundy with its mosaic of parcels and producers.
The parcels are located in Badon (next to Pavie), in Saint Sulpice (next to the first parcel of Valandraud), and in Saint Christophe Des Bardes next to the cellar (dating from 1687). The terroir of Badon is composed of sand and clay with a clay-limestone subsoil. This draining, very fine terroir brings finesse. The Saint Sulpice terroir is composed of gravel with clay which brings more depth and density. Finally, Saint Christophe Des Bardes, on the plateau, is characterized by a clay-limestone soil with asteria, bringing complexity and density. The main grape variety of the property is Merlot (90%) but there are also some rows of Cabernet Sauvignon (7%) and Cabernet Franc (3%).
