Château Palmer 2022 - 3rd Cru Class

In the heart of Margaux, 66 hectares of gravel and grassland straddling the Gironde. Between this soil, rich in centuries-old history, and the hourly microclimate of the skies. One terroir, three grape varieties: Château Palmer's horizon.

Thomas Duroux's commitment to the environment goes far beyond biodynamic viticulture, first tested in 2008 and then extended to the entire vineyard in 2014: Palmer has metamorphosed into an agricultural farm, welcoming cows to its meadows and sheep to its vines to naturally fertilize an exceptional terroir.

The vineyard is made up of three mainstays: carbernet sauvignon and merlot in equal proportions, complemented by a touch of petit verdot. An exception. And a rule: the grape variety does not determine the quality of the wine, but influences it through its own characteristics.

Palmer 2022 was harvested at just 22hL/ha due to berries 25-30% smaller than usual. It bursts on the nose with early black cherry, blueberry, violet and hints of marmalade and tobacco in the background. Complex and expressive.

The palate is structured, with the tannic backbone that winemaker Thomas Duroux spoke of, giving this Palmer a certain verticality. Notes of black pepper emerge with time, several layers, a powerful Margaux.

The tobacco-infused finish is quite linear, which is quite simply the quintessential Palmer.

Reserve a place for it in your cellar and let it gather dust for at least a decade.
