Château Les Forts de Latour 2014
Les Forts de Latour (the second wine of Château Latour) takes its name from a historical parcel of "l'Enclos". Continuous efforts in quality since 1966, when the wine was first labeled under this name, place it at the level of the great classified growths of the Médoc.
Both in the vineyard and in the cellar, Les Forts de Latour is matured with the same care as the Grand Vin. The only notable difference, apart from its origin, is the proportion of new barrels - between 50 and 60% - used for its ageing. The blending of the Forts de Latour may vary from one year to the next, but there is a higher proportion of Merlot (25 to 30%) compared to the proportions found in the Grand Vin.
Dark and intense color. Fruity nose of ripe to very ripe type. Meticulous entry on the palate then the wine develops on a fleshy and particularly hedonistic body at this age. Melting, juicy, fragrant. It finishes on fine tannins, with a good serene length. It is pretty.
