Château Lafleur 2016
Whether in their family stronghold in Mouillac or in Lafleur, their vineyard garden, pampered like the youngest of a large sibling, each member of the Guinaudeau family feels the visceral need to be as close as possible to the vine... as if to understand it better. It is with his wife Julie that Baptiste Guinaudeau today manages the family estates with the same meticulousness as his parents.
Château Lafleur makes one of the most beautiful terroirs of the appellation resound. Its 4.5 hectares of vines, which skim the surface of those of Pétrus, give pride of place to Merlot and Cabernet Franc (here called bouchet), planted in equal parts, a unique case in Pomerol. Deep and full-bodied, the wines are distinguished by their balance, by the precision of their tannic structure and by their great aptitude for ageing.
Grand Village benefits from the same quest for perfection as in Lafleur. In its youth, it offers beautiful aromas of red fruits, spices and a supple and fleshy mouth. After a few years of aging, the flavors of undergrowth and dried flowers dominate, the palate becoming more melted. Les Perrières de Lafleur was born from the overflowing curiosity of Julie and Baptiste Guinaudeau.
In 2018, after 9 vintages, the G Acte series was renamed Les Perrières de Lafleur. The vineyard, composed of 50% Lafleur bouchet and 50% merlot, produces a great wine that does not hide its filiation with Château Lafleur! Champs Libres is the consecration of 30 years of research: a superb dry white wine born on the clay-limestone soils of the Fronsadais. Marked by its subtle minerality and its beautiful tension, it is a wine that will delight lovers of great white wines.
